Day One In the morning, I was introduced to the lecturers Justin, Luke, Tony and Sophia who told us about the course and what we'd be doing for the next 3 Terms. Afterwards, we where set a task to try and see who could find the most about our peers (whom most of us didn't know). During this activity I met Talitha, Sophie, Matt and other students who are on the course. Later, before lunch I did a treasure hunt around the college with Palina. This was a way to get us to understand the layout of the campus and find places that would be useful to us I.e the Library, the Shop and Marie’s office. This was really fun and competitive but also educational as I didn’t know much about the layout of the college. (Photo taken from the school's shop). When we came back from lunch, we where split into groups of two or three and introduced to a “Induction Project”. Risk Why is there risk assessments? The Risk assessment exists because it is important that you and others (potentially) are protected and insured. It is also important that you know how likely someone getting hurt or equipment getting damaged is.  How do you fill out a risk assessment? Start by filling in the hazard reference which outlines what the risk actually is i.e. Trip or Slip, Explosion and Confined Spaces. Next, fill in the Hazard Description, which is basically a more in-depth description of the hazard. Make sure to underline the people that are at risk and fill out what control measures you can take to prevent these hazards from happening. Shooting Log TC stands for Timecode - which is when a take starts on the timeline. In take, label all the takes from one scene and circle which was the best take.

Analysing: Batman v Superman Trailer

Form:  movie Genre's:  Action: the trailer displays a lot of violence, including guns and fighting. I would definitely class this as an action as the camera shots and the speed of the scenes are very fast. Sci-Fi: the trailer promotes a lot of extra-terrestrial life and is based around two main characters, one of which has super powers. Fantasy: the trailer, much like the Sci-Fi genre, conveys powers that humans can never have but many want (this aspect also supports Blumler & Katz' Uses and Gratifications Theory as it encourages viewers to be social). Target Audience:  The audience is mainly teenagers and older. According to stereotypes, men are also more likely to see this movie as action and crime is more of a male desire. Primary Function:  Entertain (educate as well as it's quite scientifical / has real life situations to learn from).
