Filming the UCWA Graduation at the Corn Exchange

Image
On the 6th of October, Springboard and 12 students (including me) went to the Corn Exchange in Kings Lynn to film the UCWA's graduation ceremony. At the start of the day, we came in and began setting up the cameras, wires and tripods. This is what the inside of the Corn Exchange looks like. You can also see the room where the Springboard Staff where deciding which camera was going to be 'live' next. Throughout the graduation, I was mainly on Camera 6. We where mainly asked to just do close-ups/ medium-close ups of the speakers on stage.

About Me

This blog is for the my media and film studies level 3 course at college. From this course, I would like to gain the skills and techniques needed to control a movie set's work enviroment as I would like to become a director. Becoming a director interests me as I would love to make products and movies that inspire young minds and that they enjoy.

Photoshop Poster - 19/09/2018

Image
Report My two ideas are constructed around the same characters and alternative universe. I'm trying to base a lot of my projects around DC or Marvel as I would like to work with Fantasy and Sci-Fi movies. I feel that my choices of the "Titans" poster will attract my teenage target audience as teenagers enjoy Sci-Fi and Fantasy movies/ TV Shows. As well as this, I think that my target audience will be both male, female and others as the ganres of Titan's apply to both genders and their interests. Examples of posters that relate and are similar to my posters: (Secondary source, tailer by DC about the new Titans show). My posters: This is the poster with guidelines, I split the poster into two colums as there are two character's shown. We used photoshop for the first time and where asked to make a poster about something of our choice. I decided to make a poster about the upcoming TV Show called ...

Tripod & Camera Set Up

Image
Our first practicle was based around setting up a camera and tripod. Justin showed us how to attach the camera to the tripod. You must unlock part of the tripod and slide the camera on from the back till you hear clicks. He also showed us how to level the tripod so that the shot wouldn't be lopsided. (This video a secondary source from YouTube explaining how to put camera on a tripod).

Press Release

Image
Question One: What is a Press Release? A press Release is an official statement issued to newspapers giving information on a particular matter. A press release is also a compelling personal story written to a newspaper, it is often targeted at a certain audience.  Press Release Examples:  This Press Release is eye-catching at first, as it has a photograph in its top left corner  (we read from right to left) and it has a bold title. However, it is not in colour and the text itself is very uninteresting and doesn't make me want to continue reading till the end - the paragraphs are too long. Overall, I think this is unsuccessful.  Again, this Press Release has the logo on the top left corner and includes a photograph - which is more eye-catching than the last as it has more colour. The amount of paragraphs is smaller than the first one which makes it easier to reader but one of them is very big and long-winded. Overall, this is slightly succ...
