Foxy's Editing Lesson: 13/09/2018
- There are 25 fps in television (video) in the UK.
- 2 x fields /sec (upper and lower fields)
- Lower can also be known as the Even, Upper can be known as Odd
- This is called 'Scanning of the Frame'
- Jaggies happen when you pause a video on a certain frame (happens because of the behaviour of the plain (interlaced)
An extremely useful YouTube video by The Slow Mo Guys illustrates 'Scanning the Frame' as they use a phantom camera to record exactly what happens on a TV when slowed down significantly.
- i - interlaced, p - progressive
- 1080 (9) height, 1920 (16) width (frame, high definition)
- 16:9 aspect ratio
- 25 fps would be 50 fields per sec
- P.A.L (Phase Alternating Line)
