Foxy's Editing Lesson: 13/09/2018

  •  There are 25 fps in television  (video) in the UK.
  • 2 x fields /sec (upper and lower fields)
  • Lower can also be known as the Even, Upper can be known as Odd
  • This is called 'Scanning of the Frame'
  • Jaggies happen when you pause a video on a certain frame (happens because of the behaviour of the plain (interlaced)

An extremely useful YouTube video by The Slow Mo Guys illustrates 'Scanning the Frame' as they use a phantom camera to record exactly what happens on a TV when slowed down significantly.

  • i - interlaced, p - progressive
  • 1080 (9) height, 1920 (16) width (frame, high definition)
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
  • 25 fps would be 50 fields per sec
  • P.A.L (Phase Alternating Line)
  •

We created 'bins' (like files) in Premier Pro, renamed and changed their colour's.
